Brandon Lynch
My name is Brandon Lynch. I’m 35 years old, and I’ve been obsessed with cars since I was a child. Growing up, my dad owned 5 Chevelles, and my mom owned a 71 split bumper Camaro, then an 83 Celica GT.
My first dive into the import world was the 90 Supra I bought at 17 years old, with a blown engine. Having never taken on a project this large, I thought I was in over my head. After hundreds of hours of reading forums, watching YouTube, and asking anyone who would listen, I finally managed to remove the blown engine and install a rebuilt 7MGTE in my parents’ garage.
After the Supra, I owned a Scion tC, a 95 S14, several VQ35 cars, and a 17 Challenger RT, all modified
Tired of renting, I decided I wanted to buy a house, so I ditched all the toys and bought a 2001 Forester S. This was the start of Subaru ownership for me. I’ve always loved the understated presence of the Forester in the car community, and had plans of EJ257 swapping my SF.
After two years of ownership, a great deal came along and I traded for my current vehicle. Now, I drive a 2004 Forester XT that is built to the walls. Previously, on a VF48, 565’s, and OEM longblock we made 310/331. Now, on the built block and an old school FP 20G, we’ve made 406/404. The only thing currently holding it back from 700 (with the G30-900) is the transmission at this point, which will be replaced later this year with a 2005 STI 6-speed.I’m a very active member of over half dozen Subaru focused groups, and over 2 dozen non-focused groups. Our local group, STL Subies is touching 1k members and meets 5-8 times per year. The two most active Forester pages are Slammed Forester Society and Subaru Forester XT, at 10k and 32k members, respectively, and I’m regularly active in both.I currently have a GrimmSpeed banner adorning my windshield, but I would be happy to apply other decals. My car is daily driven, daily abused, and weekly raced. Be it street or strip, my car gets a lot of attention, because the turbo Forester platform is less common than the standard Impreza WRX/STI platform, and is only gaining popularity. In the past I’ve attended Import Alliance events multiple times per year, SubieFest MidWest, Import FaceOff St. Louis, and several large local shows. The local shows include Midnight Madness, Street Car Takeover, and several Subaru focused events. As an individual who strives for perfection in both the F15’s I build for work, and my car I’ve built for fun, I hope my efforts show. Thanks for taking the time to read this!
